Rationing

After the shock of Pearl Harbor many Americans wondered what would happen next?
Everyone would have to make sacrifices in support of the Armed Forces.  This included accepting
Rationing:  a system of limiting the distribution of food, gasoline, and other goods so the military could have the equipment and supplies it needed.

What challenges and hardships did 'rationing' create?

Did everyone accept it willingly?  Why was it necessary?

  1. 1.People didn't always get what they wanted so the people with money always kept complaining because they couldn't get what they usually got before the war it was being rationed.
2.The people that could afford anything before the rationing hated it because they weren't getting what they wanted. It was necessary so the people that couldn't afford the food could still get some.
3.Stores are making it so only a certain amount of people are allowed in at once and the people that get in last don't get everything they wanted because it could be gone by then. when Americans don't stay inside it will make the virus spread faster.

    3. If you don't follow the rules, the situation could get worse

  4. 1. The people didn't like it at all, but at least it was something, they should be grateful.
    2. The richer people didn't like it because they couldn't get what they wanted or as much as they wanted, but it was necessary so the people not as rich could eat also.
    3. If the rich didn't follow the rules, then the poorer people wouldn't have anything to eat.
